We got a call about a starving dog that needed rescued or she was going to be "put down" to put her out of her misery She was nearly starved to death. She weighed only 32 lbs. She has had several blood draws done in the time we have had her and surgery to remove many tumors(one showed as a cancerous tumor) and eaten lots of groceries!. She is the best girl and loves attention. Now that she is closer to a healthy weight(42 lbs) she is doing much better with the housetraining. Her last blood draw was nearly normal but could be in the early stages of kidney failure. She will have another blood test in a couple of months to see if there are any changes. She is no trouble and does just what old girls do.. sleep! She does bark at any animal that comes close to her food bowl, but only fusses at them. After being nearly starved to death, it is not unusual that she be protective of her food. She gets along with other dogs and doesn't bother the cats unless they are near her food bowl. Everyone who meets her expresses how sweet she is! She seems extremely grateful that someone is showing her love and attention. UPDATE Honey seems to be doing a lot better and all is well-for an old girl! She loves to rub against you to get attention. With her most recent trip to the vet, she is completely normal.
